Hundreds of devotees visit this temple every day, making it one of the famous temple in Karnataka state. During Mahamastakabhisheka (Grand Consecration/The Great Indian Festival), its a different story as hundreds of thousands devotees pay a visit. Though devotees have to climb 500 steep steps, this does not stop them from visiting the temple, regardless of their age. During my visit, I could see a good mixture of all the 3 generations in and around the temple.
