Can Cau market is one of the few of its kind that still keep traditional market activities of local ethnic minority and it usually opens on Saturdays or on the traditional festivals. Market-goers are mainly Mong and Giay ethnic minorities. Can Cau Market is also considered the biggest buffalo market in the northwestern region of Lao Cai province, Vietnam when hundreds of buffaloes are brought here on each market day. The photo was taken at the roadside of Can Cau market when one ethnic minority man was having a haircut with a lot of buffaloes in the back.
