This photograph was taken during srabon mela on the ghats of the river Ganga. Every year during this time thousands of Hindu devotees travel from far carrying pots to collect the holy water from the sacred ricer. A group of young girls and their mothers were having a joyful time in the evening when they came to collect the water. Darkness was descending all around but they were playing cheerfully splashing around the water and laughing. I used the flash to light up the water drops and capture their happiness and warm smiles.
