This photo shows the Naqsch-e-Dschahan site in Isfahan, Iran, on a hot and hazy late summer day.

The desert mountains disappear in the pall of haze and heat hovering over the city. The otherwise busy square is almost deserted. A few boys seek refreshment in the large fountain of the world famous square. Only when the sun has set and the temperatures have become more bearable, the square fills with life again.
