The streets of Padua were full of people and I photographed various very interesting subjects that day, including these two special creatures! I was intrigued by the smile of both of them and so I stopped to talk a bit with them. I turned to the black girl with a tone of “complicity” saying, “what a hypocrisy, a company you work for exploits by making you do this kind of work, isn’t it?” I thought that my words could be pleasant to her because of criticising the exploitation at work. To my comment she replied with a big smile and almost shouting “Bello, Trony (the company she worked for) gives me the job!” So I realised that the parameters of happiness of this girl and mine were very different.
I think they had the impression that I was a famous and great photographer : )
