The URBAN PORTRAITS collection began December of 2013 with the intent of capturing the new generation and subculture of the middle class. This project, through a metaphorical expression, focuses on the new generation of urban sports and it’s influence on the collective identity of the sociocultural transformation of a contemporary Iranian society. The numerous trends spanning over two decades among similar behavioral wearing patterns among the youth has become a significant factor to define spatial areas. The study of social behaviors of the group has been encapsulated by the visual symptoms of their collective identity. Hence, unlike other artifacts, an effort has been made to highlight the individuality of the subjects in light of the collective identity. After five years this project is still on progress.
