About me
Sergio Marcelli (born 1971, in Ancona).
I approached photography when I was very young, this passion drove me – after graduation – to enroll in a design academy.
When I was 26 years old I began teaching Photography at the Accademia Poliarte (Ancona, Italy) where I taught until 2017. The same year I was called to coordinate the video courses of a European-funded start-up.
From 2000 to 2004 I moved to Berlin, where I started experimenting super 8. Back in Italy I worked in contemporary art, creating events promoted by public authority.
My work has been presented at the IX Edition of Photography — International Festival of Rome (2010) and in several Italian and European cities through personal and collective exhibitions, it is also part of some public or private collections. In addition to artistic activity I work as a freelance photographer.
In 2016 I published, for Hoepli Editore, the “Trattato fondamentale di fotografia”, a manual of photographic technique addressed to students of academies and design schools.
I currently work on a biographical documentary on the figure of the musician FM Einheit (Einstürzende Neubauten). The film is produced by LaDoc Film under the patronage of the Goethe Institut.
