My name is Penko Skumov. I am a graphic designer and freelance photographer from Sofia, Bulgaria. I was born in 1978 in Burgas and grеw up in Pomorie on the Black Sea coast. I have studied art history and cultural studies in New Bulgarian University in Sofia. Married with one child. I am a co-founder and member of photo group Naos. It was a society of various artists interested in poetic photography and classic photographic processes. Between 2001 and 2009 we have organized and participated in many photo exhibitions in Bulgaria. Since 2015 I work especially in street and documentary photography genres. My interest in street photography began 5 years ago. The genre helped me to rediscover the passion of taking photos. I believe that “the street” is the last challenge and the last modern genre in photography today. It is always new, always developing and always inspiring because bare life itself is its object. I`m a member of BULB Collective (Balkan Urban League without Borders) since November 2018.
